the-jinx

HBO’s The Jinx lived up to every bit of the hype. You could find fault with the film’s devotion to Durst’s side of the story or their softball interview questions but Robert Durst has to be one of the most compelling documentary subjects to ever hit the screen. It’s a strange, twisting tale that builds to an unlikely conclusion and I was hooked from the first episode. It’s extremely rare that you get direct access to a subject in this set of circumstances, especially access that the subject himself initiates, and that your story bleeds over into real world headlines making this a very unique experience both as investigative journalism and entertainment.
