At long last my buds from Brooklyn’s The Meat Hook opened their much anticipated sandwich shop and trust me it does not disappoint. As you’d expect from their usual no nonsense MO the focus here is classic sandwiches made with high quality ingredients given some creative twists. They keep it simple – serving sandwiches, a couple sides and beers in a slim, open storefront next to Gimme Coffee on Lorimer Street near Grand in Williamsburg. The two sandwiches I tried (Italian, Ham and Cheese) were memorably delicious and so was the three bean salad. I look forward to eating my way through their entire menu. For now they’re only open from 11-4PM or until they run out of ingredients, which has been happening frequently, so get there on the early side if you can.
