Venice 059Venice 060Venice 061Venice 066Located at the end of Venice’s Grand Canal, the original building and interior spaces at the Punta della Dogana were incredible. The site was a former customs building that had been left empty for decades before being purchased by a wealthy French art collector and renovated according to a thoughtful design by Japanese architect Tadao Ando (one of my wife’s favorites, and after this visit one of mine too). The exhibitions weren’t my favorite but it was worth visiting to see the space as well as all the great city views you get from the well-placed windows inside.
