no-ceremonyIt’s rare that a record catches me on first listen these days but No Ceremony’s self-titled debut has proven to be the exception to the rule. They bear some resemblance to London Grammar both in band make-up (girl/boy/boy trio) and sound but for my money this is much more exciting material. Unlike the tidal wave of hype LG has enjoyed, No Ceremony have flown low under the radar (they’re not even mentioned on Pitchfork). Thankfully I discovered them through the on-set of year end lists that is now upon us and I think it’s safe to say they’ve earned a solid spot on mine.
