Some artists have the ability to shapeshift, constantly re-imagining their sound to create something new. Others work to improve on and master a signature sound. Personally, I think both are a valid approach. The new Washed Out album Paracosm doesn’t break much new ground but does sound good to my ears. When someone delivers an LP of quality music start to finish, you’re not going to hear me complaining. There may be more technically advanced, forward thinking records out this year but very few will get played more than this one on my system.
