GroundislavaGroundislava’s Feel Me is a 2012 record that slipped past me but given how much time I spent listening to his fellow WEDIDIT partner Shlohmo last year, should have definitely been on my radar. Their sounds share a similar sensibility – blurring the lines between hip-hop, house and IDM production techniques. They both make music that won’t overpower you on a home listen but also takes on new life when played live on big speakers and their collaboration “Bottle Service” is the album’s highlight for me. Fans of Boards of Canada, Holy Other or even Thom Yorke’s more electronic leaning efforts should find alot to like here.
