I’ve actually started enjoying my new route of walking to the Williamsburg waterfront and taking the ferry to and from work. I end up walking more than 70 blocks round trip but it allows me to avoid insanely crowded trains or worthless buses and has given my day a new perspective. I walk by the UN building every day now, have gotten to know my own neighborhood a little better and the boat ride itself is not a bad way to travel. I’ve started employing little tricks to improve the trip too, today that included grabbing a delicious Swedish coffee from Konditori for the boat line. I needed it too because the weather report read 30 (feels like 23) when I left the house and the wind off the water is serious! Somehow this whole experience has made me feel more connected to the city and even though it can be inconvenient that’s an invaluable feeling.
