I really have no excuse for having not read this book or more of Chuck Klosterman’s writing earlier. My friend Mike told me about him several years ago and I have no idea why I ignored his suggestion but I was sitting in Roebling Tea Room yesterday enjoying an afternoon beer and reading a few of these pieces and must have looked like a real fool because every single one had me laughing out loud. It’s smart, funny, engaging writing that is easily digestible but also makes you think. I plan on burning through the whole book, even reading pieces on subjects (Metallica for example) that I have no real interest in because you never know when you’re going to find one of his single sentence gems.
