I was blown away by this book’s brilliance from start to finish. It is one of the smartest, most inventive and carefully observed novels I’ve read in a long time. Author Adam Ross explores the difficult, dark side of marriage where love and violence sleep next to each other night after night leading us towards thoughts and actions we never dreamed possible. It certainly wasn’t the ringing endorsement someone 2 months away from matrimony might have been looking for but I couldn’t put it down. His reimagining of the infamous Sam Sheppard murder case was particularly fascinating but there were troubling but true revelations within the stories of each couple unlucky enough to come under Ross’ literary microscope. Mr. Peanut is filled with memorable passages that have a lasting impact and ranks safely among the best books I’ve ever read.
